Winter Sun Rock Climbing in Sardinia
The beautiful Italian island of Sardinia is not only a great winter climbing destination, but it is also steeped in history and culture. It has a varied landscape, with mountains, woods, plains, rocky coasts and long sandy beaches. The coastline is generally high and rocky, giving many excellent multi-pitch climbs on limestone. The island also has amazing granite outcrops and many inland crags, with trad and sport routes, easy slabs, desperate overhangs, long multi-pitch routes, and huge potential for new routes.
Is this the course for me?
You've done some indoor or outdoor climbing in the UK. You want to learn better technique or learn how to lead sport routes. Or maybe you’ve been stuck at the same grade for a while and want to progress on to something harder. Or perhaps you just want the luxury of being guided up long multi-pitch routes.
Fitness level & preparation
Fitness level 1: you exercise regularly though the week for short periods, and regularly do more, eg a half day walk in the hills at the weekend.
To get the most out of your time in Sardinia you should be aiming to be a regular visitor to your local climbing wall, once a week.
